Advances in intraocular lens technology have led to the design of premium intraocular lenses (IOLs) which offer a wider range of vision, far and near.  These premium IOLs have improved patient visual function and, in many cases, have reduced or eliminated the need for glasses or contact lenses after cataract surgery.

One such premium IOL is the ReSTOR^® intraocular lens, a multifocal lens which can improve vision in a wide range of distances, from near to far.  An innovative optical technology called "apodization" makes the ReSTOR^® lens uniquely effective, especially when placed in both eyes.  Many patients find that they can read a book, work on the computer, or drive a car with increased freedom from eyeglasses.

Another premium IOL is the Crystalens^®, the only lens that uses the natural focusing ability of the eye to allow patients to see at distance, intermediate, and near.  The Crystalens^® IOL offers a broader range of vision than a standard intraocular lens, providing a continous range of vision through a single focal point.
